14-04-2026 Tuesday English Activity – ‘Race to the Bottom’

“Race to the Bottom” is a fun and fast paced game, where competitors must think of a word starting with a certain letter in a category. For example: “Can you think of a type of food starting with the letter ‘e’?” It’s played in teams, which helps foster a sense of unity within the team. Students are also encouraged to work with people they do not know. This is in line with one of the mission statements of the Tuesday English Lunchtime activities: to encourage friendships across ages and classes. Although this isn’t a particularly rule-heavy game, it still requires students to wait for their turn, which helps them practice patience and obedience to the rules of the game.
